Seth's mesmerizing, golden voice is missed so very much by his listeners. As I read somewhere recently, the silence is unbearable! Rest in peace.

I just tuned in hoping to hear some of Seth's great music and am shocked and saddenend to learn he is no longer with us. He has been a part of my life since I moved to Charlottesville 18 years ago and I feel I have lost a friend of long standing. Another friend once said "Seth makes me want to listen" - and he did. I will never forget his love of bluegrass, his observations on birds, or his wonderful voice. Heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

I will miss Seth's voice on radio, his classical music show, his knowledge about the birds, and his general humor about life. The last time we exchanged online conversations was just a few days before his passing on Facebook. It was about the different owl calls; in particular, the screech owl's haunting, soothing sounds. A talented man and appreciated by so many people, he has left us feeling we have lost a very good friend. I send condolences to his family and very close friends during this time of loss.

I knew Seth in high school and he was a good friend and oh so talented. Such a sad loss to all who knew him and his listeners.

Seth had such a perfect resonant voice and knew so much about classical music - taught me alot through the years. I also enjoyed his appreciation of nature, his sense of humor, his anecdotes on composers etc. He will be missed.

I will never forget the day Lois and I met Seth on the Parkway, and he pressed a bird book into our hands. He was such a good person, a true enthusiast with a zest for life. He would email me about Appalachian writers of whom I had never heard and send me on a quest for knowledge. I will miss him. Love to the family, the legion of friends, and radio co-workers. It was always my pleasure working the WVTF fund drives with Seth. Last time he and I had a wonderful discussion about birds and the Ivory Billed Woodpecker. He was gifted in so many ways and will be missed by many. My thoughts are with his family, friends and co-workers who must know how much he was loved by his audience.
