I would like to express my deepest condolences to the Galvin family, and to the bigger Motorola family. Bob was in inspiration to me, and I will never forget his kindness, and keen interst in what we did as researchers. His ability to recall names was phenomenal, and he always had time for every employee, no matter what position they held. I will miss him!
God bless you Bob.

In my 37 years at Motorola Bob was always an officer and a gentleman. From my very first meeting, a hand shake at the Christmas lunch in Franklin Park to our yearly lunch at his Barrington Hills home in later years; always a wonderful human being. How can you thank someone who's leadership put your children through school, provided you with a home and saw to your families medical needs! Our prayers are with you.

I would like you to know how much I admired Mr. Galvin for both his life and his life's work. His values, innovations, successes, work ethic and family life were all inspirational to me. My sincerest sympathies on his passing.

I am writing this on behalf of my father, John B. Maloney, who worked with Bob for many years at Motorola. My Dad passed away in February of this year. As he reflected on his many great experiences and times in his life, he would always mention his years at Motorola and in particular his friendship with Bob Galvin. He always mentioned Bob as a good mentor and leader, but above all, a good friend. It is very unusual these days for workers to feel loyalty and friendship for a boss. My Dad would have wanted you to know how special Bob was in his life. Our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
Regards,
Phil Maloney and the Maloney Family

I wanted to express my heartfelt sympathy regarding the passing of Mr. Bob Galvin. During my 22+ years at Motorola, I only had the privilege of meeting him a couple of times, but those interactions created a lasting impression. He was indeed an inspirational leader and great man that passed on a tremendous legacy to his company/family; a legacy of integrity and conviction.

Bob was a great leader and mentor to all. He believed in research as a way to create a brighter future. In tough times, he helped reinvent the company. He will be missed by all who ever had the pleasure of meeting him. As a 31 year Motorolan, my career and my life was positively impacted by his leadership, his example setting humbleness as well as his ability to drive bold new initiatives like 6-sigma and 10x. I will keep the Galvin family in my prayers.

I came to Motorola straight out of the military. The quality of leadership under Bob was right up there with everything I had experienced previously. I have enjoyed my nearly 30 years at Motorola, but especially the years when Bob was there providing the well balanced and truly inspiring leadership that helps us all do our best and be confident that we will be supported when making the right decisions.
All the best to the family.

Few people get an opportunity to work with truly great leaders. Thankfully for those of us that worked with Bob experienced one of the world's most unique leaders. His passion for family and Motorola, his vision for success and adding value to our way of life and his constant respect for all of humanity set him aside from most men. He was a man of true character. He is admired and will be missed by us all.

Our prayers are with the entire Galvin family.

Bob was a great and wonderful person.I don't think that there will ever be a leader as great as he was. I can remember when he would come into the factory and talk to us and call us by name. He would always come in at the holiday time and thank us for a good year.It was a pleasure for me to work for Motorola for 44 years (wish I was still working) and my husband for 11 years. Bob may you rest in peace and our prays go out to your family. Bob you will always be remembered and missed by us
