As a Desert Storm veteran, it always hurts to see a fallen soldier in the line of duty. GOD's blessing upon the family in this time of loss.

So sorry to hear about your loss. We didn't know Capt. Secher, but we know Ms. Morris through the Germania Club Of Memphis.

I remember Robert as Josie's adorable little brother. Josie and I used to play at her house when we were kids - I lived around the corner. I live in Texas now and check out the Commercial Appeal website occasionally to see what is going on at home. I was so shocked and saddened to read of this tragedy and my heart goes out to your entire family. I wish I could be at Temple Israel on Sunday, and I am sending my deepest condolences, along with my whole family.

To the Family of Capt. Robert M. Secher:
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost a son (SFC Brent A. Adams) 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday.
I wish so badly there was something I could say to you right now, but, I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for right now. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as your heart is both bursting with pride and pain together. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is those wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

My heartfelt sympathy to the Secher family in the loss of Robert. I did not know Robert, but my heart is broken and I am saddened for your loss of such a fine young person and hero. Robert you are my hero and you will NEVER be forgotten.
I send each of you a hug from the most inner part of my heart.
Love and Peace

I am the Sister of such a young hero, who made the Ultimate Sacrifice in Vietnam, many years ago

Surely He hath borne our grief, and carried our sorrow.
Isaiah 53:4

May you find comfort and strength, in the beautiful memories of times you spent with Robert......Quietly and gently, may healing come, with each new day
