Thinking about you, your family, and friends yesterday for our Marine Corps birthday and today on this Veteran's Day.
May 26, 2014
On Memorial Day this year (as with many other days), I will keep Rob in my thoughts and prayers as well as his family. I explained Rob's sacrifice to my oldest daughter two years ago to help her understand Memorial Day and she's never forgotten about Rob and asks about him now every Memorial Day. Gone but never forgotten.

I still think about you, Marine. And pray for peace for you and your family. Thank you, Rob.

Ooh-Rah & Happy Birthday, Sir!! On this 238th birthday of our beloved Corps, you are still and forever will be a presence we remember as we celebrate. It is because of YOU, Sir, & our other brothers and sisters who have given their lives, ensuring that we will always be able to celebrate the Honor, Courage, and Commitment instilled into the heart of all of us. You will always be the epitome of what the Marine Corps stands for; a constant reminder that our signature on that dotted line-although written in ink-is sealed with our own blood. Today, Sir, I thank you for your guidance; your leadership; your sense of humor; your service; and most of all-your ultimate sacrifice. You will always be present in each and every aspect of the Marine Corps and those who have had the pleasure of serving with you or beside you, to include me-will NEVER forget that. You have impacted the lives of so many of our brothers and sisters. Your sacrifice was not in vain, Sir; and it will NEVER be taken for granted. I know you're guarding the Gates of Heaven with the same pride and confidence which you portrayed in life, as well. Thank you, Sir; For your service and your willingness to give your all. Happy Birthday, Sir, and Semper Fidelis!!!!

Sir, its the day before OUR beloved Marine Corps 238th Birthday and of course you come to mind. My thoughts on here always relate to the fact that I miss you. You were the ultimate Marine, but even more so....you were the Ultimate Man and Friend. I just wonder on some days on how and why you can be gone, when you had such a bright life ahead. But it comes clear that GOD needed the Ultimate Angel to look over us as we defend others. Ill keep it short this time. Basically I miss you, and can only wish you were here to share my family life with you. Invite you over to for the Holidays, and Kenzie's birthday's! Happy early Bday, Sir. Semper Fidelis to my HERO!

Captain Secher was awesome to see when I was a young Marine. He led from the front and I appreciated that about him. I think about the officers that led us at Bravo 1/11 and try to treat people with the same respect that Capt. Secher and the other officers in our battery gave to us. I will never forget! Semper Fi

Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers (ps4fs@charter.net) is an organization with groups throughout the country who work to send handmade prayer shawls and/or lap robes to families who have lost a loved one while serving our country. Members of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church would like to extend our sincere sympathy and to honor your loved one's sacrifice and memory by sending our prayers and comfort through a prayer gift which will be mailed to you. If you are interested, please contact me at gramman@comcast.net with the names and addresses of those who would like to receive one and which gift they would like to receive. We will send our gift as soon as possible. Also, if you know of any other families who are grieving the loss of a loved on who died while serving our country, please pass along my e-mail address. May God bless you and comfort you in the days ahead. Sincerely, Lynne
