Hey buddy! This weekend we reflect on you and all the heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice. I will never forget you brother. You will always be with me in spirit.

At Rob's funeral, someone spoke about how great of a Marine he was and I couldn't agree more. But, what I've always told people when I tell stories about our time on the staff at Officer Candidates School is that he was a great man. Being a Marine was just part of him; albeit a very big part. It is why my wife and I chose to name our son after Rob in 2009. My son will grow up understanding what integrity, sacrifice, and honor look like and there was never any other consideration for my son's name when we learned he was a boy. For all of those family and friends out there, I hope it helps to know that Rob's story and as much of his life I know will live on through my son. He's only six now but already understands that a good friend of daddy was killed while defending our country and protecting our way of life.

Rob's memory still inspires me to be a better man. My prayers remain with his family. Semper Fidelis!
