My deepest sympathy to the Prosky Family...I don't know if Robert Prosky is my relative. Robert born in Pennsylvania. My family and relatives born in Pennsylvania, too. I would like to know about the family tree to see if we are related. I live in Florida since 1994.

Bob and I met at the Abbey Theatre in Manayunk where we both cut our theatrical teeth. I worked with him in a few plays--he directed me in "Bell.Book and Candle"--we even were in competition in an early 50's live TV program called "Stand by Broadway"--he won the contest and went on to work at the Bucks County Playhouse then to Arena Stage--the rest is history. Before he married we "shared" an apatment in Brooklyn--I say shared but I was really subletting the place while he worked at the Arena in Washington, D.C. He was a wonderful dancer--polka, waltz--very light on his feet He was always a gentle, sweet man in person. We would run into each other from time to time and he would catch me up on his life. He was so happy and thrilled at his ever widening circle of career experiences without a trace of the usual actor;s braggadocio. He spoke of his Moscow run as one in humble awe. As it is obvious from the many sentiments expressed here that he was indeed loved but the greatest laurel he received is when his son said he was "a wonderful father." My sincere condolences to Ida, Stefan, Andy and John. Bob was a delightful warm person who is, and will be, sorely missed.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. Prosky's passing. What an inspiration he and his family was to me and they never knew. Andy and John will continue the Prosky Legacy. I just took my two children to see the three of them in DC this past Spring. My children could not believe I knew the wonderful actors and wanted to meet all of you backstage. Wish the family the best, always!!! He will be missed, but we will remember him and the family in our hearts.

Sincerely,

My thoughts & prayers go out to the Prosky family during this time. I just learned of his passing; he will be truly missed. What a great voice, what a great smile.

I attended Capitol Hill Day School with Stephan & remember going to Arena Stage to see my first play, which of course was one that Mr. Prosky starred in. Watching him perform on stage was magical.

I always knew that if Mr. Prosky was in it, I would enjoy watching. Very fine actor, and it sounds like a good man too.....Daws Metcalf
