I miss him so much and I loved watching him play! He will live on forever in our hearts!

I never met Rod personally, but my wife is a very good friend of Stacey and her mother. I remember watching Rod in relief appearances with both the Giants and Cubs, and being a Yankee fan, I wished that someday he would wear a Yankee uniform. From everything I had heard about him, he was a generous human being, a loving husband and father, and he will be sorely missed.

Stacey, I didn't know you well, but had a class with you and Rodney at Grant High School. My thoughts and prayers go to you and your girls at this difficult time. I am touched by what a caring and giving man he was. It is wonderful that his legacy will live on through you and your daughters.

Rod was one of a kind as a man, husband, father and baseball player. He loved life and all that it held for him. I will never forget the first time I met Rod, we were both young, nor the last time I saw him, we were not so young. His passing was a complete shock and a huge loss for his family and friends, no one could ever come close to replacing him. My heart goes out to you Stacy, Kayla, Kelsey, Ervin and Shirley you have endured a loss that no one should have to go through. Take comfort in knowing how much Rod was loved, how much of an impact he had on this world and knowing you will be reunited someday. Life will go on, time will ease the hurt and pain but the love will stay forever..... We will love you always Rod, till we meet again, take it easy and remember the good times.

Stacey, my deepest condolences to you, your daughters, and surviving family on the loss of your beloved Rod. My name is L.T. Schroeder, you and Rod lived above my mother Julie Schroeder and me in some small Scottsdale apartments when you and Rod were just starting out and early in Rod's career. You worked with Julie actually for awhile until Rod broke into the big league. My mother was always very fond of you and Rod. Rod often checked on Mom just to see how she was doing and was always very concerned for her well being. Even after you moved away, he'd come by the office during spring training just to say hello. Unfortunately, Julie passed away May 2006 of an incurable lung disease. She would have been very sad to hear about the sudden loss of Rod, and of the grief you and your family are in. Please know that my family's prayers are with the Beck family. Also know that we had great times watching him play. Mom always checked the box scores to see how Rod fared. I'm sure they have bumped into each other up there and are sharing a cold one. Blessings to you and your's.

The last time we saw Rod Beck was when he had already left San Francisco. We knew he was going to play there with his new team. So my
grand-daughter Marissa and I, made a sign with a roll of paper. It was long and big. On it we wrote: We Love you Becky! As his bus was leaving after the game, we held up our sign. He was looking thru the back window. He saw the sign, and he smiled and waved at us. We missed him and he knew that he was
still remembered fondly. How could we forget his inimitable piching style and his wonerful persona. Sadly, Marissa too, left us too soon, at the age of 18. But I like to think she's up there cheering him on. Our Becky!
