I grew up listening to baseball games on the radio. My grandfather would hang a transitor on a nail that had been pounded into an old Sycamore tree. My grandfather, dad, and I would then sit in a porch swing that hung from that huge, old tree and listen to the ballgames on Sunday afternoons. Mr. Ron Santo brought life to those games with his on-the-field defensive and offensive plays. I was delighted, then, when after his retirement he moved to the broadcast booth, and I could partake of that same excitement once again, this time via his radio voice. May you be comforted in knowing that Ron brought baseball to life on the field and in the booth to millions of fans all over the world. He was truly a legend whom you, his family, can be very proud.
