MISSION ACCOMPLISHED , KABUL AFGHANISTAN 07 SEPTEMBER 2009!
On 08 August a team of 100% Volunteers from all over the country and the world began "The Roslyn Schulte Memorial Humanitarian Mission" to assist children in War Torn Afghanistan. Some of these children were the very children that LT Schulte would try to help herself and with her own money. Thousands of lives were touched, eyes were healed, wounds repaired, fractures set and many local Afghans were trained to assist and care for their own in IDP/REFUGEE camps in Afghanistan. We also tried tried to show compassion though it was very hard at times with all the bombings and security threats. We can say that we know we save many young boys from recruitment by Taliban and ANTI-GOVERNMENT elements operating in the Afghan AOR. Though we could not save you, Ros we saved many in your honor and in memory of you! The mission is over now but much is still going on there as a result of this activity. Some of the world's best known reporters and photographers covered this mission as we worked BOMB rescues, normal clinics and follow up exams on those that we treated. Major General Formica's office at Camp EGGERS , Kabul was informed of our mission for Roslyn as well. The small mudd and dockey dung building where we treated hundreds in IDP camp PAWAN has been named Schulte School/Clinic. 8 young Afghan children are also educated there with help from the "Women of hope Project" which we have partnered with in Afghanistan. An email we read from Bob Schulte whilst we were in Afghanistan let us know that we had done a good thing in memory of LT. ROSLYN SCHULTE , USAF KIA AFGANISTAN MAY 2009. I think I did this already, but it's worth a second shot. Thanks.
