Dear Patty and Clare and the Dean-Rushton families
Your husband, father, son, brother was a quiet, friendly, unassuming man. He was always a warm and kind addition to the Wednesdays he brought Clare to our Early Years Program. Dawn and I looked forward to spending time with this very precious addition to the Hamilton Beach neighbourhood. He was truly a very special person who definitely left his mark and touched all who knew him.
"If today were your last day" by Nickelback really summed up how Roy led his life. That and the amazing poem his brave wife Patty read at his memorial were a testament to how he would want all of us to think about him. Though I only got to know him less than 2 years, I count myself as one of the many people blessed to have known such a wonderful man.

Dear Patty...you were so strong today...the strong woman that we all know and love.
Roy will always be that brightest star in the sky, always watching over you and Clare.
Our wish is that you find peace and solitude in all of the wonderful memories you have and know that your friends and family are all here for you.

To the family and friends of Roy Rushton,

There are no words that could possibly convey how sorry we are for you all except to say that we understand your devastation. Our hearts are broken and they break for you too.

May God bless you.
