GRACE L. ARENDT, 95 ROCKFORD - Grace L. Arendt, 95, of Rockford passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Provena St Anne Center. She was born March 8, 1917, in Merrill, Wis., the daughter of Andrew and Ruth Slivinski. She married John Arendt on Aug. 15, 1932, in Waukegan. John predeceased her in 1969. She worked for JL Clark for 35 years. Member of St. Edwards Church, St. Edwards Ladies Guild, Ken-Rock Senior Citizens Club and founder of the Tin Lizzy Club. Survivors include daughter, Joanne (S. Robert) Friesen of Rockford; grandchildren, Sue (Floyd) Simonson of Cherry Valley and William J. (Sheri) Arendt of Burr Ridge; great-grandchildren, Valerie (Ankit) Shah of Mountain View, Calif., John Robert and Jason Arendt both of Burr Ridge, Tawny Blatchford of Garden Prairie, Mitzie Carey, Judy Keegan and Joan Minter, all of Belvidere. Also predeceased by parents; and son, Ralph James. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at St. Edward Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
