Coach Royal was not only a great football coach, but he was a great leader if young men and in the Austin and Texas community. He has left a great legacy and model for others to follow. God Bless the Coach and his family. JoAn Baird (longtime fan)

He was head coach when I was a student at UT. I had the pleasure of meeting him on a spring day outside of Gregory gym. It was and will be a special time in my life. I hate to see him go. He will be remembered forever.

Coach Royal:

I know you sit in heaven with God and his son Jesus. I want to thank you for calling me during the summer of 1979 to invite me to walk on at the University of Texas and play football. You will be missed and you were an inspiration to many.

Yours in Christ,

Rippy Morales
