A Rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2013 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel a Communion Service is scheduled at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2013 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church for Lucy Cobos Wyatt, age 88, of Roswell who was called to be with our Lord on October 19, 2013. Deacon Ernesto Martinez will officiate with the interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.
Lucy will lay in state on Thursday, October 24, 2013 starting at 5:30 p.m. at LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
Lucy was born February 14, 1925 in Roswell, New Mexico to Roman Cobos and Margarita Gallegos. They have preceded her in death as well as her husband Richard Wyatt; sister Abranita (Lonnie); brothers Ismael and Raymond Cobos.
Lucy is survived by sons: Milo and his wife Mariquita Garcia of Los Luceros, NM, Anthony and his wife Roberta Wyatt of Roswell, NM; daughter: Darlene and her husband Manuel Martinez of Ruidoso, NM; four brothers: Henry Cobos of Capitan, NM, Gilbert, Rudolph and Henry A Cobos all of California; sister: Delores Dunn of California; eleven grandchildren: Daniel Martinez, Monica Martinez, Marissa Martinez, T.J. Wyatt, Frank Wyatt, Andrew Wyatt, Lisa Arias, Benjie Garcia, Gina Jacobo, Milo Garcia Jr., and Naomi Tafoya; 20 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.
Lucy was a lifelong resident of Roswell. She was a restaurant owner for many years with her last one being (Mi Cocinita), which she owned and operated for twenty years. Lucy loved life and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was unique, talented and creative in her love of cooking, gardening, oil painting, crocheting and her uniquely designed arts and crafts. Lucy was a member of the Tucumcari Elks Lodge 969.
She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family will receive friends at the American Legion Post 28 at 1620 N. Montana, Roswell, NM following the services.
