I fell pretty sad for them I never knew them. It's very sad to hear something like that. R.I.P

Thinking of you Ruth and Julianna today. May you both rest in peace. xxx

I met Ruth on a plane ride from Ireland to Boston on May 30, 2000. I was returning home from studying in Ireland for a semester. I was experiencing some mixed emotions about leaving - I missed home, but at the same time, I had grown to love Ireland, and I was sad about leaving that new home. Anyway, Ruth was sitting next to me. Neither one of us spoke to one another for the first half of the trip, but by the second half, we began chatting. I quickly learned that we had a lot in common. She had just been returning from Ireland - she was there planning and then attending one of her bothers' 40th Birthdays. She told me all about how she planned the party, where it was, etc. She was so excited and full of life. We shared our saddness about leaving Ireland. She actually made me feel a lot better. She was very maternal, very caring. We exchanged information because we were both from CT, and she thought perhaps her niece would want to meet me when she came for a visit to the States. When we got off the plane, Ruth walked with me to the baggage claim area and stayed with me until I found my parents. I will never forget her. When the planes crashed on September 11th, I was in my room watching the news and I saw the BBC news report about the terrible event. I looked up, and there was Ruth's picture. I knew it was the same woman. I grabbed my wallet, where I kept her business card, and sure enough, it was her. I was filled with a terrible saddness and my room actually got colder than it had been. I will probably never forget that moment, but I choose to remember the warmth I felt from her while we chatted on the plane, both of us with tears in our eyes. All I can say is that I pray for her family. And I think of Ruth often. May God bless her family, and may Juliana, Ruth and Paige be blessed in heaven.

I never knew Ruth or Julianna, but when I think of 9/11 it is their names I remember. I'll never forget that horrific day or the lovely family lost. My thoughts and prayers are always with their families.
