Natalie and Jennifer,
I cannot begin to count the ways that knowing Bob changed my life. In addition to the ground rule: "Are you serious about music? Where's your pencil?", he both continuously challenged me and steadily built my self confidence, both as a musician and as a human being......
Although I now earn a living as a psychologist, I remain serious about music. Among the gifts as applicable to the practice of psychology as to the practice of music, Bob taught me to listen, how to listen and how to pay attention in the present moment. I could not do what I do today without those gifts.
Bob once showed me a page of notation and said "Someday you'll look at something like this and hear the music". He was right!
Bob will continue to live through all of the ways he touched people. I could not begin to repay his gifts, but will continue to do so in a way I know he would wish... by paying them forward.
