LONDONDERRY - Maynard (Mike) W. Carleton, 80, passed away peacefully at his home on March 27, 2013.
He was born in Londonderry, June 10, 1932, son of William H. and Verna (Westine) Carleton.
He received his education in Londonderry and served in the U.S. Navy.
Mike was happiest spending time with his family and playing golf with his wife and their many golfing friends.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen (Griswold) who he married August 6, 1955; two sons, Michael of Londonderry and his wife Debbie; Earle of Asheville, NC; two daughters, Teresa Johnson of Chester; Nancy Goodrich of Springfield and her husband Scott; one brother Donald of Utah; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, and by his son Douglas in 2009.
There will be no calling hours. A celebration of his life will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.

I got to know Mike when we both worked for EJ constuction in the 80's. I never met a finer person. Thanks for the great memories, Mike. You will be missed. Earl, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Ellen and family....our sincerest sympathy....even though we never new Mike real well we know how much he meant to you all.....I had a wonderful visit with him on the phone just a few weeks ago....we shared some laughs, some sadness and some memories....I think probably the longest we had ever talked.....cherish and share those memories with smiles to help heal your sadness and know that Mike will be missed by many.
