Arlene D. Apps

APPS, Arlene D. Born July 25,1918 in Ironwood, Michigan, the 5th (and only surviving) of 7 children; Died April 3, 2015 in Sacramento. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark, and son, Merlin. She was so proud of her family, who are equally proud of the way she lived her life and loved the people in it! Loving mother of Jim (Sondra) Apps, Marlene (the late Bill) Tobia, Peter (the late Shannon) Apps, Barbara (Lonnie) Connally, and Terri (Ben) Jellesed. Cherished grandmother of Jill, Nick, Jeff (Jennifer), Cristine (Patrick), Kim (Bob), Mark (Kim), Ryan (Angie), Amy, Jennifer, Emma (Rei), and Heidi (Chris). Doting great grandmother of Jake, Stephen, Max, Tyler, Madeline, Dillon, Bobby, Jessica, Jack, Gabriel, Sydney, Amanda, Austin, Riley, and Taylor. Special Auntie to many nieces and nephews. She and Mark were founding members of St. Peter's Catholic Church; at present she was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, where she was an active member of the Women's Club. She was twice selected to represent her parish as a Diocesan "Woman of the Year". She is a former member of the Grass Valley Rifle Rod and Gun Club Ladies' Auxiliary. Friends are invited for visitation on Tuesday, April 7 from 5-8 pm with recitation of the Rosary at 6 pm at East Lawn Elk Grove Mortuary, 9189 E. Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, April 8 at 10 am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 7584 Center Parkway, Sacramento. Private interment at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
