Dear Kay, Fred, Rob and Marianne:
I was saddened to hear the news of Ed's passing and wanted to express my sincerest condolences to all of you and your families. Growing up on 21st street as your next door neighbors brings up so many wonderful memories of that kinder, gentler time and the Franklin's. I will always remember Mr. Franklin walking the neighborhood from house to house and offering his knowledge, wisdom and helpful advice to all who would listen. As families, we laughed, we played, we fought as children will do. We also comforted and deeply cared for one another's families. We came of age together with help, guidance and great parenting from all of the 21st street parents. Ed was truly one of America's greatest generation and he will be missed hear on earth, but what a legacy he is leaving behind! Georgie, Tommy, Theresa and Paul, Tony and Irene have already welcomed Ed with open arms. I'm sure there is a 21st street reunion up in heaven as we speak. Treasure the memories, they fill your hearts every day.
All my love to you all,
