My deepest sorrows to the Barone Family. As I read this I, reflect many years back, when Gene was my bread man. I can still hear the whistle now. Back in the late '60"s early '70's I was the day cook at the Now defunct "Yolo Club" in West Sacramento. Gene would stroll in, take a look at what I was out of....come back in with what I needed, then with a smile and a wink.... GONE....'till tomorrow. To tell you the truth, I've thought of Gene many, many times over the years. It's amazing how people can affect your life, and don't even know it. When I moved to Garland TX,....guess what? I became a bread man too for the same Company, inspired by Gene. I've been back in CA for 37 years now......no longer a bread man, but Gene Barone......was "The Bread Man".....Good Night Gene.....well done!
