Our deepest sympathy to Jeanne's family and friends.
From the members of the Camping Women organization.
What a wonderful lady! When I was in Middle School (about 1967-68) I attended Camp Arcade in the Soda Springs, CA area. Jeanne was my camp counselor and made the event fun and memorable. Fast forward to about 1978 and I was working at the California Department of Education (CDE) with Barb Landers, Director in the Title IX Unit. While at work, Jeanne walked in the office. I greeted her and introduced myself. To my surprise, she remembered me as a young girl at camp. She soon joined CDE. Throughout my career with CDE, she continued to guide and support me. Together we continually told the story about our meeting to others when we worked on projects or in team settings. No one knows who will come in and out of a life, but I was so fortunate to have Jeanne in mine. I send my condolences to the family. I will also celebrate her contributions toward the development of quality and fair physical education and curriculum for all children.
I worked with Jeanne at the CA Department of Education. When I was writing a Dept. document on educating young children, she was so helpful to me. She shared her insights about movement and physical development and helped me realize that Duck, Duck, Goose, Goose, was not such a great activity for children -- only two children got to move and everyone else sat! She was unselfish in sharing her resources, gathered over the years. She will be missed.
While I do not know the family I wanted to send my condolences to them along with thoughts and prayers.
My daughter and drove by Holy Family this afternoon when Ms. Bartelt's casket was out from draped with her flag and the VFW Post was standing at the curb in salute.
I want to thank Ms. Bartelt for her time and service, it is appreciated.
Every day we are loosing more of this generation and I give each one of them including her my upmost respect.
Love and light to all of you.
My deepest sympathy to you and your family.
