I was so fortunate to attend San Jose State with Bob when we were both getting our teaching credential. Throughout our time there, we found out that we had several things in common. To name a couple, he was stationed in New London, Connecticut at the same time that my grandfather was there... And may have known him (I can't recall if he said he did). Also, he and Marie (and family) lived next door(?) to my aunt's family (the Pierces) in Rio Vista for many years. It's a small world. I've thought a lot about Bob since San Jose State and we kept in touch for a bit afterwards, then lost touch. I've never stopped thinking about what a wonderful human being he was. To Marie and the rest of the Lucas clan, I send my prayers and most sincere condolences to you.
I have so many fond memories of my father in law. He was funny and sweet and complex and loving. We had so much fun going to football games and bowling and searching for churches in Denver. All somewhat inside intel.
We miss you Bob. Luvu always.
Thank you for the kind remembrances of our Dad. We miss him, too.
I had the pleasure of working with Bob at Musick School where he had the respect and friendship from all of us. We kept up-to-date after retirement for awhile. May God bless you.
I remember as a small boy Mr Lucas coming to church each Sunday with his wife and long line of boys following. He was one of those bigger than life characters and a gentleman. My condolences to the family.
I was blessed to work with Bob at Musick School in Newark. Bob was an amazing teacher, colleague, and friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to Marie and the entire family. I miss you Bob.
