To the Thomas family so sorry for your loss. Ty was incredible and we miss him.
Dean and Jim,
Like you, Ty will always be a special part of our family of the heart that stretches in an unbroken chain of caring from Louisiana to California. I only met Ty once as he waved and smiled at Aunt Shirley's sister from his upstairs perch at your home. But looking at his face radiate so much of the two of you -- and reading the forty-plus warm memories that preceded this post -- helped to flesh out for me the man he grew up to be. I learned that Ty was loved by so many for his larger-than-life personality that indelibly touched so many lives, including the young people he mentored in sports and life. As parents, you shaped so much of what became Ty's legacy that will remain here on earth as he soars to rejoin his Heavenly Father!
Hedi Butler and your Baton Rouge Family
I met you when you were in Mrs. Goode's class at John Holst School with my daughter, Laura Maciej. You were a good friend to her and I know you were well loved by all your friends at Del Campo H. S. My heart goes out to your parents and family! I know you and Laura (passed July 23, 2011) are in heaven! May you rest in peace! Cathie and Bill Maciej

I have great childhood memories of Ty. I spent hours trying to get the boys in my court to let me play with them. They often took pity on the only girl would let me play. Ty always kept an eye out for me like a big brother in Jr. High and High School as well. He will be missed. My prayers go out to his family.
We had many long conversations on children. We shared a love to work with kids. I am lucky to have seen you a few weeks ago!! You are truly going to be missed!! Prayers to your family and loved ones we will meet again my friend!

What can I say, yes, one of the best from Class of 89'. My fondest memories, Poppin' and Lockin' in the class room during lunch in 7th and 8th grade. Last time I talked to Ty he whispered (LOL) in my ear, that he enjoyed reading my verses I posted on FB, at least someone read them, lol. Great memories here on earth, but I will see you again Ty, We will see you again!
I will never forget your big heart and even bigger smile. You were a friend to everyone who knew you and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers to your friends and family.
Ty was a good friend of mine in elementary school. Lot's of good memories. He was always so very kind and of course funny, he will be truly missed.
The first I saw Ty since high school he walked right up to me and said hi Travis. I don't think he every forgot anyone. He is a great guy and will be missed. My thoughts and prays to his family and friends.
Oh friend I will miss you and your hugs and the way you brought so much joy to this life. There hasn't been a day that has gone by since I heard the news that I haven't thought about you. Did you realize how much love there is for you in the world? I can only hope you can feel it as you shine down on those of us left behind. Until we meet again...
It didn't matter how long it had been since the last time you saw Ty - he treated everyone like a close friend. The world needs more happy, positive people like Ty. I smile every time I think of him.
I didnt know him as well as others , but always found that when he was in the room everyone was drawn to him for his dynamic personality and positive outlook. He has been on my heart...
Ty-you were probably the funniest person I have ever known, after me of course! You always made me smile. I will always remember that about you! Rest in peace and make that big man up there laugh for me too! Your friend,
Ty- What a joy he was. I could always depend on him to make me laugh whenever I visited. It did not surprise me that he became a mentor to children because he had such a big heart to go along with his wonderful smile. Our hearts are heavy but the memories are our greatest comfort. Your family in IL wishes all of you peace and we love you.
I had the pleasure of meeting Ty in High School. This Guy was one of the happiest guys I had ever met...... I hadn't talked with Ty in years and happen to run into him last year and sat down and had a few beers with him. Ty was the same Guy from years ago and didn't miss a beat! We laughed as hard as ever!!!!! You will be missed buddy!
Ty I always remember your kind heart.. you and I always had a blast at the night before Thanksgiving at Players Pub. It will not be the same without you this year. You were love by so many, and will be missed by so many. Rest in Peace mt sweet Friend.
Ty was a great friend to me, i will surely miss him alot. There are so many memories in my life that i will never forget, I would not have those memories without Ty Thomas!! RIP my friend, i will never forget you
I am going to miss hearing all your funny stories. You were loved by so many. Your life was much to short but you accomplished a lot and made a difference in the lives of so many kids. Rip!
I was genuinely broken hearted to hear of Ty's passing. While life and time has created distance between us I was always happy to hear through the grapevine he was doing well and happy in life. He was genuinely one of the most charismatic people I ever had the pleasure of knowing. Nearly all of my good high school memories hat a "Ty" component to it. I had many challenges in my life but Ty was always my friend throughout and he will be sorely missed. DC Cougars class of '89 lost one of their best this week. My best to his family and friends many of whom I know are hurting right now.
My earliest life memories include Ty. Playing in our neighborhood all the time as kids and meeting up and knowing him again as adults.. He was a wonderful person full of life and spirit. Always with an infectious smile and zest for life! He will be missed. Prayers and love go out to the Thomas family.
Ty thank you for the warm infectous smile. I am honored to call you friend!
Ty was a special person. His personality, big heart and love of people will never be forgotten. He leaves us with great memories and will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as they deal with this loss.
Ty was one of the rare friends that enter your life and leave only good memories. I never walked away from a conversation with Ty without a smile on my face. Ty's passing is truly a loss to everyone who knew him.
Ty was one of my most cherished friends! I will never forget him and the joy he brought with him every where he went. I am thankful for my memories!
Ty was one in a million. Glad to have known him and proud to have called him a friend. Shine down on us buddy.
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Ty. He was a great friend to me and my family growing up. Playing football, baseball, and hide-and-seek in the court, break dancing in Johnny's garage, sleepovers at Ty's house playing Intellivision baseball all night. My condolences go out to Derek, Eric, his parents and the rest of his many friends and family.
I had the pleasure of working with Ty and experiencing first hand his loving heart and desire to help others. You are missed Ty.
