I was honored and privileged to have been taught by her and her husband. She inspired me to reach high and she encouraged my love for learning. She was like a 2nd mother to all of us who were taught by her. My thoughts and prayers to her beautiful family.

Fortunate enough to have been one of Mrs. Mesquita's many students, it is with great sadness that I hear of her passing.

Even now in my adult life, I still reference and remember many of Mrs. Mesquita's many anecdotes and lessons that she shared with me. I will never forget that first day of class, which was coincidentally also Mrs. Mesquita's first day, and her adventurous approach to learning that quickly immersed me in my new school setting. She was a teacher and a friend, even though decades separated us. I will always remember her love of Whitey's, our shared appreciation for a cherry coke. Moreso, I will never forget the time she told me that for every good writer there are ten mathematicians, a subtle suggestion that has yet to leave me. While I am sad to hear of her passing I am left knowing that I was lucky enough to have received her greatest gifts.

I did not know of "Ms. Mesquita's" passing until I received the News Ledger today. My father was the principal at Westfield for over 40 years (Robert Clark)and always had a sparkle in his eye when talking about this fine teacher. Three years ago, my son, Andrew, was the recipient of the Mesquita Family Scholarship. My father was so proud. I am glad he will have such quality company in the after-life. God bless you all.

The Mesquita's have been the pillars in our School District for many many years. I have had the privilege of knowing both Bill and Francey while working at the district office. My prayers and love go out to Bill and family.

Francy: The smartest, funniest, strongest woman I know...I will miss so much about her: Her crowns, wands, fancy straws, cherry cokes, "Francy Pants", her sense of humor, the best advice, all the life lessons she taught me, her brightest and most beautiful smile, Christmas cards of her and Bill and most of all I will miss our "linners" at the Riverside Clubhouse with Roberta, Sandy and Barbara. We will continue to meet @ RC in honor of our friend, "QUEEN FRANCY" who will always be remembered with much love and remain in our hearts forever.
Wishing the Mesquita Family strength, comfort and healing during this difficult time. With Deepest Sympathy
Love, Carrie Clausen Conlon
