Although I didn't realize it until talking to Marge last night while viewing photos, Jack was one of the memorable umpires in Roseville back when I managed a softball team in the city league. I remember feeling relieved when our team arrived and I saw him umping behind the plate. No crazy calls would happen that night.
As I truly got to know him last year, what impressed me most was his high standards, sharp mental capacity, willingness to stand up against things that he believed would harm our community or were done fairly or aboveboard. His leadership in forming RCONA is a legacy that has and will continue to improve the neighborhoods in which we live and raise our families. Roseville is a better place because of his willingness to do something about it.
