I only knew Mr. Teichert casually but he had the ability to make you feel as if you were a longtime and good friend. All of Sacramento has been enriched by this wonderful man and he will be greatly missed.

Many years ago Henry was enrolled in my Environmental Conservation class at American River College that included field trips. I was very impressed with having "Mr Teichert" in my class and while in a car on a field trip, I was calling him "Mr Teichert". He stopped me and said, "please call me Henry". He was a fine man and I was very blessed to know him.

As a young woman, I was fortunate to renovate old houses with Henry in downtown Sacramento. We met at Sierra College in the Carpentry program. I was the only woman; Henry was the only old man. Later, as we worked side by side, his sense of humor, commitment to learning the trade, and treasure trove of wise stories helped shape my adulthood. Henry, you made a mark on many people including me in surprising and wonderful ways. Plus we had a hell of a good time. Thank you.

I will never forget a speech that Mr. Teichert gave at a Junior Achievement luncheon decades ago. The topic was Secrets to Success in the business world. Many of Sacramento's most successful took their turns to share their tips. When it was Mr. Teichert's turn, he started his presentation by saying "My secret to success is that I chose my parents well." The laughter was loud and long. Thanks for a good laugh, for your contributions to the community, and for your humility. Rest in Peace.
My deepest sympathies to the family.
