My darling Mark, you are so missed. From the day that I met up with you in Miami to the day I put you on that plane for your last visit to California five years later, you have enriched my life and so many others. Often people still stop me on the street and tell me how sorry they are to learn of your death. Your caring heart and smile has made a difference in so many people. I know you can not come back but oh how I wish you could. You were there for me every day working right along side me doing whatever was necessary to allow Mom and Fred to leave this world with dignity and love. My wish is that every elderly person, including me, had a Mark to hold them, hug them tell them how special they are as they face the transition from this life. You gave special meaning to the song "If I Can Help Somebody as I Pass This Way, Then My Living Shall Not Be In Vain" Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. All my love, Aunt Evonne

I'm so sorry to hear of Mark's death. I just learned of his passing from a Misawa Air Base group. Mark and I were stationed together in Misawa Japan. Mark always had a smile. He could light up a room. And what an athlete. To the family, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

To the family of Mark Brooks, I am deeply saddened by the news of Marks passing. I just found out today, 28FEB2016, only through our group page on Facebook called Field Station Misawa; its where many of us served together in the Army. That is where I knew Mark from as a soldier. I can assure you, there are many of us now discussing this in reflection of him. I can tell you personally, I admired his spirit, his energy and his constant zeal. I knew of his efforts in Boxing in Japan, and he was a dedicated soldier, heart of gold. I hope you find our webpage on FB, you will find many of his comrades here, we were a very small community, transferring around the world to only select locations, we would always bump into each other because of our skills. Please take this to your heart, this assurance, from our community to your family, we also will miss Mark. Perhaps it is this form of reflection that gives us peace in knowing such moments are cherished.

Mark and I served together in Misawa Japan in the 1980's. I was his shift (trick) intelligence analyst. He was a great guy and will be missed. During that time I was also a portrait photographer. When he was boxing he asked me to take a photo to be used for his boxing poster. Still have the shot here somewhere. I'd be happy to send you a digital copy.

I'm deeply sadden to hear of Marks passing. Mark and I first met by accident when we arrived in Tokyo, Japan on Yokota AB in October 1983. Are sponsors forgot about us and we both were headed to Misawa AB Japan. It took a few days but we formed a friendship. Lester we began hanging around and our wives met and became friends. I was in the Air Force. Many good memories. Mark and I lost contact over the years and I was looking at some old pics and thinking about Mark. Do I googled and wasn't expecting to see this. I'm so sorry. My condolences.

Dear George and Tim:
My deepest sympathy's to you and your family with the passing of Mark. I just found this as I reminisced of our friendship in Illinois. I have missed you all since you left in 1978, especially you George. I loved Mark and was happy to read of a life so fulfilled with great accomplishment. The Brooks family from Mr. George Brooks Senior to George, Mark, and Tim touched my life in such a positive way. The Lord is good and his mercy endures forever. Mark is in a great place with joy and peace surrounding him now in God our Father and Our Lord Jesus Christ.
