I did not know about Robert's death until today when I happened to search for him online to see what he was up to.
I met Robert in the 1990s when he lived in San Francisco. I'd just moved there from TN. I was so green and unaccustomed to life "in the big city".
Robert kind of took me under his wing and introduced me to books, artists, and musicians. He helped me to transition from a somewhat timid young man into a strong, confident, spiritual person.
I owe him so much... Words alone cannot express my gratitude for his positive impact on my life.
I have a picture of him on my refrigerator that I look at every day.
The world has truly lost an amazing man.
My condolences to his partner and the rest of his family.

I found out about Robert's passing yesterday. I am heartbroken. I was blessed to have met him as a patient in IOP. He helped me get through a very difficult time in my life. I will never forget the day he made us play family feud. Yes, Robert, You are right. Depressed people can have fun!! Thank you Robert. I will never forget you. God bless you and your family. See you in heaven.

When I first heard of Robert's passing, I simultaneously felt cheated/that I wanted more time with him, AND incredibly blessed and grateful for all the time and experiences we had shared. I was SO blessed to know and love Robert and to be loved (and hugged) by Robert.

Robert had a closer relationship to God that anyone I know. That intimacy with his Higher Spirit allowed him to be so intimate and vulnerable with all of us. Genuinely human, abundantly loving & kind.
May all of us, especially the love of his life Bob, be comforted by the knowledge that while death ends a life, it does not end a relationship. I will be in relationship with Robert all the days of my life.
