He saved my life. He really did.

Now and again, over the last twenty years, I've thought of trying to contact him. I wanted him to meet my two sons. I wanted him to see...I'm okay.

Thank you for giving me a safe place when it was needed. Thank you for convincing me that my future mattered.

My heart is heavy tonight...

My thoughts are with you all as you grieve this loss. Mr. Cornwell was my guidance counselor at San Juan High School (1967), and I remember him well as the most helpful and supportive adult at the school. He inspired me and helped me to navigate the college admission process. How wonderful to hear that he continued to support education and students way after my time. I know he will be missed.

Mr cornwell's was my high school guidance counselor whom forever changed my life by making me promise him I would go to college. I was awarded a small scholarship that allowed me to work my way to attend college against all odds. I have been trying to find him for years to thank him for his role in my success. Now a physician serving the Sacramento area, I am forever grateful for his influence.

I remember him though he wasn't my counselor I remember him always having a smile on his face and always friendly. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
