So very sad to hear the news that Ms. Sada Thompson had passed away. She was truly one of the great actress' of her era. I asked for episodes of "Family" for my Christmas a couple of years ago. I watched those episodes during the 70's when they were on & wished that I had lived in the Lawrence house. She will be missed by many, but heaven has truly been blessed by Sada's loving smile. Thank you for sharing your talent with us & making us feel alittle warmer inside & letting us feel that we were apart of your T.V. family. Say hello to James (Doug Lawrence).

I have always loved you dearest Sada. Your work as an actress was beautiful. Andres mother was my favorite. And also your scenes with Kristy on Family God bless you lovely one.

I write this simple note to the Family of Miss Sada; She has been so vital in my life as an actress because she looks just like my mother. Sada's role in "Family" is exatly how my mother is in my own family. May God continue to extend her legacy to all of us who aspire to live a meaningful life just as she had lived. - Waylon J.

I have felt terrible since the night I found out Ms. Thompson had left us. I wrote to her two years ago and she wrote back even complimenting my big Shaggy Sheepdog Hefner.....There are no and never will another great actress like her. I took a ride up to the house where they filmed the show Family...just to kind of feel close to her. I keep hearing the shows theme song and want to cry but my autograph photo of her in up on my baby grand just like in the show's credits gives comforts me....Rest In Peace and how I wish we had met....

Just found out tonight from the Tony's IM MEMORIAN. Sada Thompson was a great lady, and great actress. She was a firm supporter of my work on Hedgerow Theatre, and helped me get to the Shaw Confernce in Milwaukee. I qoute Sada all the time. When accepting her Tony she said Theatre is a Noble Profession. Sada Thompson made it so.

I just heard on the Tony Awards show that Sada had passed away - my condolences to her family. In my first job in professional theater at the Shakespeare Theater in Stratford, CT, 40 years ago, I was Sada's dresser when she played the mother in Mourning Becomes Electra. She was always the ultimate professional, kind and patient. She was a wonderful actress and a gracious person. Good-bye, Sada.

My love of theatre came from watching Sada perform in the Thornton Wilder play Our Town with Hal Holbrook. I was hooked from there. Every kid on the block wanted Kate Lawrence as a mother to sit and talk to. Sada and I traded post cards and letters for the last year and a half and I will always treasure that.. The spotlight dims but it will never go out when we remember you and your amazing career..rest in peace dear Sada..Katherine Springfield MO

I so enjoyed the TV program Family as a young adult growing up and Mrs. Thompson was the rock that held that family together. So sorry to hear of her passing

Just read the very sad news. Every night during "Marigolds" was a treasure. I will never forget your kindness. An extraordinary woman and great artist has passed. She was such stuff as dreams are made of.
