Burba, Raymond W. Saginaw, Michigan Beloved father and grandfather passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at Covenant Medical Center Cooper. Age 90 years. The son of the late John and Anna (Tomaszewski) Burba, Ray was born April 6, 1927 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II in the Seabees and was a member of V.F.W. Post #1859. Ray married Dorothy Stefanovsky on October 8, 1949. She predeceased him October 4, 2012. He owned and operated Burba's Barber Shop from 1950 until his retirement and was a draftsman designing tools for Lufkin Rule. Ray was a member of John Vianney Catholic Church and a past member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. He was a member of the Brothers of Kosciuszko Pulaski Club, United Commercial Travelers and the Saginaw American Club. Ray enjoyed his cottage on Higgins Lake especially fishing and hunting. Surviving are four daughters and their spouses, Mary Kusowski, Saginaw; Joanne and John Kostrzewa, Traverse City; Beverly Burba, Jaffrey, New Hampshire; Debra and Jim Haremski, Saginaw; 11 grandchildren, Robert Kusowski, Gregory (Kerry) Kusowski, Dan Kusowski, Angela (John) Miller, Ashley (Chad) Kotlarz, John Kauer, Mary (Eric) Chapman, Joseph Kauer, Jennifer (Mike) Ozerajtys, David Decker and Phillip Marin; three great-grandchildren, Kayla, Ava and Tyler; several nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers, Susan Perry, Sophie Archangeli, Ann Strzynski, Della Liviska, Stanley, John, Edward, Donald and Joseph Burba. Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2017 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Road in Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Joseph Schabel will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery where Military Honors will be presented by V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service, led by Sister Janet Pewoski, CSJ, will take place 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center or Meals on Wheels.
