Mary Ellen Parker
RALEIGH - Mary Ellen Parker, age 91, of Raleigh, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013.
Mrs. Parker was born Sept. 21, 1921 in Americus, Ga. the daughter of the late Mary Julia Flatt and William Calvin Flatt. She was a graduate of both Georgia Southwestern and Georgia State Colleges for Women. She was a member of Hayes Barton United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert Miller Parker in 2000 and daughter Judy Powell in 2004.
Those left to cherish her memories are daughters, Taffy Jordan of Salisbury, Becky Lawson of Chattanooga, Tenn., Ellen Shintay of Raleigh and Liz Kelleher of Greensboro; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church in Raleigh with the Rev. Rick Clayton and the Rev. Fred Jordan officiating.
Memorials: May be sent to the Hayes Barton UMC, Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 6088, Raleigh, NC 27628-6088.

Mary Ellen was the loveliest person. She will be missed by all of us. I cherished the times we were together, and loved being her niece.
