Tears to the passing of a female legend who, like another aviatrix with her plane, this one with a spaceship, dared to dream the impossible, and go to space. Sally, you did give us a "Ride" we will never forget, or you. Thank you, for your dedication, and girl's dreams, that, heh, we can do this too, and it is not just a "man's" world. Women all over the world thank you. You'll always be in the history books for what you have accomplished and what you did, and nobody can take that away from you. You will always be remembered.

When I was a little girl I wanted to be just like her and go into space. I wish I had known she was sick. I would have prayed for her.

I knew Sally from her activities at Stanford University and as a fellow member of the Columbia Accident Investigation Board. She was a dedicated scientist who strove to push the limits of human activity beyond this fragile planet. We will all miss her.
