I would like to take a moment to thank all of you
who took the time to express your kind thoughts and wonderful memories on Bryan's Guest Book page. I have read them over many times and they have brought both tears and laughter, but most of all, great comfort to my heart. We are still struggling to try to adjust to our days without Bryan. He was such a bright light in our world and we just plain miss him!
Life can be extremely difficult sometimes. However, with the knowledge of our Heavenly Father's love for us all, the inspiration provided to us in scripture along with the blessing of our beloved family members, friends, and associates who share in each other's life events, we can carry on.
I know Bryan is sharing in Heaven's blessings along with all those other "Dear Ones" who have gone before us and that we must press forward to accomplish our own earthly goals before it is our time to join them.
I would love to hear personally from any one of you. You can contact me at the link at the end of this entry.
Thanks for sharing. This is the Bryan I knew. He had some amazing spritual experiences. I remeber the blessing he received from the Patriarch of the Tongan people, Yohanni Wolfgramm back in the early 90's and what a special blessing it was. I was lucky enough to be living there at the time and was one of the first stops he made to ponder the experience. Bryan's most anticipated events he wanted to see happen was the return of Christ to the earth to rule and reign in truth and joy. Well, he will see it, but from a heavenly perspective or resurrected. One of the two.
Lave ya lots. Call me any time.
I love that so much Margene! Thank you for sharing that! I can just hear Bryan saying those words. He was such a deep thinker and his heart was so full of love. I know he could not understand the evil and hate in this world and people who were not kind like himself. I think of him often and I know he is at peace and enjoying the music and love of the angels. I pray you and your family can somehow find comfort and the pain of missing him will lessen. Although you can not see him or touch him he is with you all the time pouring his love on you. May God bless you and hold you in his ever loving arms and give you peace.
Forever a fan of Bryan,
Joilyn Bales Owen
My Dear Son - Today marks one year since you left us to soar to the heavens. Mere words are not enough to express how much I have missed you - how much we all have missed you! You did, however, leave us with wonderful memories and experiences we shared together to help ease the pain in our hearts. As we enter into a New Year here on earth, I feel inclined to share with those who read your Guest Book a short essay you wrote a few years ago. You called it
"MY VISION OF A HEALED WORLD
A world where abundance and peace abound for everyone..
Where there is no hunger, sorrow or pain..
I invision a world like unto the city of Enoch or Zion - Everyone pure in heart and all radiating with Charity, the Pure Love of Christ..A world where all people are seeing with their spiritual eyes, and all see as they are seen, radiating with light..Where the Fires have been tried in the chalace of our souls and all are refined like fine Gold.
A place where Music and Joy are abundant and all of the fine arts..Where everyone's talents and gifts of the spirit shine in every aspect of life..There would be mutual respect and care for the innermost feelings and desires of the heart for each other - everyone living in perfect harmony.
A world where Miracles are a daily occurrence and the spirit of Gratitude stretches out across the land, and shouts of Praise and Joy are continually radiating throuout the Universe in the hearts of all people.."
(By Bryan Sorenson)
It sounds like "Heaven" to me, son, but perhaps in this New Year, 2014, we can capture a portion of your vision to make this world a better place.
Margene Carnell Sorenson
Bryan, my dear son. Today (September 21) is your birthday. We are really missing you. Tomorrow we will gather together as a family to remember some of the wonderful times we shared together and to celebrate your life. Sarah will perform some of her songs you so loved to hear, one of which she wrote especially for you at the time of your passing. We will be sharing a dinner prepared by your sister in your honor. It doesn't seem so long ago that you were that adorable little boy who was always smiling and so full of enthusiasm. You loved your birthdays! We always tried to make them special, and I am so happy that last year we could share your last birthday with me (Mom), Dad, and most of your Aunts and Uncles at that special dinner at The Grand America Hotel. I wrote you a sincere birthday note expressing how much I love you and was able to tell you how grateful I am that you are my son. That fact will never change. You will always be my son through the eternities and I am very thankful for that knowledge. I feel that you are near us. We have all felt your presence on occasion and believe we have received subtle messages from the other side, just as we did with Steve and Parrish. The tears are still falling on a daily basis, however. We just plain miss your presence. I know you understand.
You have many family members and friends who love you and are missing you today. just as we are.
Margene Carnell Sorenson
Brian, hey bro,my tears and my heart is heavy met u when I first got to SLC in the late 80s. U, Rick & Parish were on top, with Megattack. I & Terrance Hansen were excited to add u to our band Powerhouse. I remember our gigs at Rafters, Coronas Rockin R etc. And it was u who helped me to decide to join Lixx. U were selfless even though it meant the break up of our band u told is was a happening gig and back in 2010 u joined my latin band hot sauce and even went on national tv telemundo for our debut. Thanx for ur kindness and bieng a bro I have great videos of us performing. Ur time has come to play for heavenly fathers band. Sing well my friend. All my love and ultimate respect. Que paz descanses porque estas en el cielo.. Tu bro, adam curiel...
Rock On!! We miss you,
Bryan.. It has only been a few days since you suddenly left us. I am struggling to concentrate on the wonderful memories we shared, but the loss is so great and I miss you so much already, I can only remember through the tears that continue to fall. You have taken a big part of my heart with you.
The thoughts run through my head, and I must say once more, as I have said countless times before, how much I appreciate having you for my son. You have brightened my days and filled my heart with such joy and laughter ever since you were just a tiny tot playing on your little "metal drum" late into the evening. It was just a few days ago when you were making me laugh about something crazy, or so excited to sing and play me a special new song on the guitar. You were blessed with a great sense of humor and have lightened up many a day for others, but especially for me. I so looked forward to our conversations and visits.
I was thinking about the day you called me last fall when you found the little bird outside your front door with an injury that could not be helped. You wiped away a few tears as I explained to you that there was probably nothing you could do to save it, but you went inside and brought a small lid filled with water from which the little bird took a few sips. You sat down on the ground by him, offering comfort and stroked his soft head as his life slowly slipped away. Then you wrapped him in a soft cloth and buried him in a special spot on your grounds. I couldn't help but think on that day how Christ-like that small kindness was, and that you were a man of gentle spirit. I know you gave that same kind of love and caring to any of your family or friends who were in need, and offered peace and comfort by serenading them with beautiful strains from your guitar. You enthusiastically shared your God given talent of rhythm and sound on the drums in the music you made with Parrish Hultquist and various band members through the years and it will continue to echo through time.
My consolation is that you are with your dear brother, Steve (who you loved and missed so much), Parrish, and so many other family and friends who have gone before. I will miss that big smile! I wish all your dreams could have come true. Always remember, I love you.

Dear Sorenson Family.... I am a drummer friend of bryans and we were briefly in a band back in the 80's called whiplash smile we never gigged as a band or did much other than jam together. but his friendship and love for music made a lasting and deep bond between us ! that lasted threw the times and will forever!I miss you my friend !God Speed
RIP Our Dear friend, Bry I sure hope theres a lake powell High in the Sky. We shared a great life through the Mega Crew To Spiritual Lake Powell.. You will be missed and never forgotton. My heartfelt lost goes out to your wonderful family and all your friends we love you Bry, See you at the Drum Circle, Ill bring the turkey. Until we meet again see you on the other side!! Peace and Love Bro!!
You pulled a fast one on me, I had no idea you were going to walk though the veil when I talked to you the toher day. You have been a great friend and one of my weekly calls since jamming with Moviescreen back in 1984. I'm sure oyu are happy to see your brother and Parrish. Till we meet again, bro!
Blair and Margene, I am so sorry for your loss. I last saw Bryan at Ila's funeral, and he looked great!!! I know that there is a big reunion going on in heaven right now, Woody, Ila, Uncle Bob, my husband Steve and now Bryan. The band keeps getting bigger and bigger. They are truly our guardian angels watching over us. Please accept my thoughts and prayers. Take care.... Denise Lund
Dear Sorenson Family...I went through school with Bryan. I saw him from time to time in the Sugarhouse neighborhood and our visits were great. He was always very kind and sincere. We caught up on old friends from High School, music and his aspirations. I wish you peace and want you to know I will remember his sweet soul. Page Morris Juliano
I've known Brian for over twenty years I always enjoyed watching him play the drums in all his different projects. We traveled in many of the same circles and associated with many of the same musicians,I will miss knowing that another brother from our circle has passed. I am sure he and Parrish are together again. I am glad I can say Brian was a good friend and i hope I get to see him again.
I think I knew Bryan's thoughts and struggles pretty well. He always spoke of his tremendous love for his family and numerous friends. That always stood out. He wanted to re-vamp his career using his phenomenal talents and I spoke to Mark Carlson about it, at TMS in Omaha.
Having taken a shot a being a drummer myself, watching Bryan, I would just shake my head and appreciate the powerful, natural, and tasteful style that he played...amazing! I was equally delighted when he fronted his own band as a gifted vocalist and guitarist -- only Bryan could really do that, WELL!
I just got off the phone with Jeff Paris in Kansas and had some good laughs for old times sake. There seems to be less of us left.
I don't think Bryan ever got over the loss of his brother, his buddy, Parrish, and others that he grieved for. It seemed to leave a hole in his heart and he looked forward to seeing them again. Looks like we'll have to deal with the hole Bryan is leaving in our own hearts now.
I look forward to speaking with Bryan's wonderful mom and dad again soon, God bless you!
Our condolences to your family. Bryan was a long time friend and his friendship will be missed. Rock the heavens bro!
Bryan I'm sad and shocked, to see you leave this earth life so young and full of life. You were a good friend to me when my wife Linda passed away from Huntingtons. You were fun to be around, you had a child like joy and excitement for life and simple things like a certain stuffed animal or nix nax that held so many memories for you. We had a blast on that trip to see the rocket motor test.We were all surprised by how quite the rocket was we saw the huge flame plume but no sound then about six seconds later thundering roar like a big rocket.I have a video and more pics of Bryan if any one wants to make copies. I will miss you my friend,Bryan. When I leave this life, I hope your face will be one of the first to greet me.
WOOO!!!! Dude, I just heard last night!! What a "blow away!!" Darcy posted it last night (on facebook) so as soon as I saw it I called her and Kevin (Merendino). Kevin and I were just talking about you a month ago, and when I got better (from a bike wreck I had in July), we were going to call you and hit the town 1 night (at least). So needless to say this is a shock! I'm still wondering what happened, how, etc., but I just hope you're up there in paradise bro. You were always a "good guy" (not one that was acting like he was), so I'm sure you're good. Hate to hear it, you were one of the original o.g. players here (in Utah), so it is sad to see that you're gone now. Well, save a place for me up there, who knows if I'll be there in a minute or so, or what? (ha) We'll have a drum off up there or something (if God allows that up there). Keep play'n bro!!! Take care, late.
PS. The pic is because we were all such Randy Rhodes fans, so here is a pic from "our day" back then (since you probably found him IMMEDIATELY and started "get'n busy"- right? ;)
Rest in peace Bryan...you will be missed!
So sorry to hear about Bryan's passing. I met him for the first time at the Sorenson family barbecue several years back. It has been a long time...I wish I had the opportunity to hear him play. May the love of family and friends comfort you during this difficult time. Memories of all the special times you shared are just a thought away, keep them close to your heart and they will bring you peace. With sympathy, Mike, Jolene and Brayden Sorenson
Bryan, rest peacefully. I will always smile thinking of all the times you and Parrish would come over and raid the fridge. So many laughs. My condolences to your family.

It's been 10 years or so since I've seen you. Regardless of time, your smile, warmth and ability to make those around you smile is an endless feeling that will never fade. I am grateful for the times we jammed together, the times I watched you jam, and the times we were both in a crowd rooting other bands on! You were an awesome friend to everyone and so very kind. God bless your kind soul Bryan. Your friend, Marsha (Stewart) Kreeb
