Mary Harris Obituary

1958 ~ 2012
Mary Elizabeth Kocherhans Harris passed into our loving Heavenly Fathers arms Sunday morning May 6, 2012 from a 14 year battle with cancer. Liz was born December 24, 1958 in Provo, Utah to Mary Kathryn Sharp and Lavor Perry Kocherhans. As a child she enjoyed singing with her sisters in a trio with her mother accompanying them. She followed her love of music to college and studied vocal performance at the University of Utah where she met her eternal companion Kenneth Alton Harris. Ken and Liz were married September 22, 1984. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple October 4, 1985. They have four children who were the joy of Liz's life. They moved to Nashville in 1994 to pursue their dream of music. They moved back to Utah in 2003 to be closer to family. Liz then went to Utah Career College and received her degree in Graphic Design in 2007. She always had a love for sewing and quilting and was a member of her local quilting guild.
Liz is survived by her husband Kenneth Harris; children Andalin and Russell Richards, Vincent Harris, Megan and Thomas Terry, and Nolan Harris; grandchild Jack Terry; grandmother Elda Sharp; mother Kathryn Kocherhans; sisters Kathryn Dunn and Shauna Kocherhans.
Liz was preceded by her father Lavor Kocherhans.

Aunt Katherine and Family: I've just read all the lovely posts about Liz. My cousin who I hardly knew. She must have been a great woman. Of course, she had a wonderful mother and father who taught her the gospel. We are so blessed to have the knowledge of God's great plan for us. Even with that knowledge death of a loved one is not easy. My you be blessed with the comfort that the Holy Ghost brings. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. Love, Sherry Liston

Dear Harris family,
We send our love to you at this time. Liz was an angel here on earth, and her strength and faith were a light to so many. (She helped me at a very difficult time, and I will always remember the encouragement she gave me in dealing with adversity - she gave me strength to endure a very hard time. I will always love her for that.) She will be ever present, sending her love from the other world, and we know that she is safe in the arms of our dear Father and His Son. She lived her life as a true disciple of Christ. She will be with you again. Families are forever!
We love you! The Dewsnup family :)

I knew Liz from working together at Cephalon. She was a very special lady, very kind and considerate to all she encountered. She approached her work the same way she approached people, in a very open and ready to support way. She was so very proud of her children, and all of her family. She will be missed.
