I'm very sad to hear my Aunt Mary passed away. She always found time to talk to me when I was a shy silly child, and somehow we always found something in common to discuss. She always smiled, asked me questions and made me feel special. We talked about horses and kittens and anything that interested me. What a kind lady, and an important influence in a young girl's life. I love her. Kat Pedersen Rhodes

Mary is my very favorite "lunch lady" of all time! I taught at Oquirrh Hills 1981-1986 and had the pleasure of getting to know her. I am sure there were never any errors with money, the number of lunches, etc. I have been at other schools since then and I have wondered why they weren't as efficient or accurate as Mary . . . even with a computer! She was a woman of great integrity, work ethic, faith, and all that is good. She was a great example. I had opportunity to teach one of her great grandsons at Bacchus for one semester about 2013 but I apologize for not remembering his name . . . I can remember his face. He represented her example very well. I am sure I will never forget Mary Pedersen.

Kristine, I am sorry to read about the passing of your mother and realizing that you lost your father as well this year. I imagine the loss for you has been difficult. Hopefully the fond memories you have of both will help you through this time of loss.
