Dr. Bedell was a fantastic osteopath, an amazing conversationalist, and a wonderful human being. He seemed to have taught me something in every exchange I had with him, and always seemed to be seeking to learn something of me as well. He was always willing to spend an extra minute, or half hour, with me during appointments to ensure I was comfortable and my needs were met. I will carry his teachings about the nature of being human with me forever. I'm grateful for the moments I spent with him. May the joy of the time spent with him outweigh the pain of his absence in the hearts of those who's lives he has touched. God bless his spirit, and may the good Lord bless his family and friends through their grief. Thank you for everything Ray.

Shanna, We owe Ray more than we can ever express. His caring an diligence to find some comfort and overall health improvement for Nancy gave us a greatly improved quality of life that we are still able to enjoy 20 years later. We fondly remember coming to see your new house, meeting him in Evanston in the middle of the night for a pump adjustment and his overall pleasant demeanor. We are so sorry for your loss but are sure there is a very special place in heaven that was reserved for a man we truly believe is a Saint! Thank you for sharing him with us.

Shanna - Ray was a great physician and an strong advocate of pain management in a controversial field. His talents were second to none similar to his conviction to family and friends. All hale Ray !!

Dear Shanna, I was a patient of Dr. Ray for 3 years. My first appointment with him I remember being irritated because I had to wait 2 or so hours. I expected him to come in a rush the appointment because it was now their lunch time. When he came in I was in shock because he was so warm & welcoming & asked me if I had a certain pain issue. I responded yes and was surprised because I know he hadn't yet looked at my file. He told me he could tell by the way I was standing. He taught me so much in the first 20 minutes of my appt. & came across so knowledgeable & we talked & never once rushed me. For the first time I felt like I'd found someone who actually knew what they were doing! He was more concerned for his patients than himself. I was heartbroken when I found out he passed. It was after the funeral, which upset me because I would have made the drive to be there. I was closer to him than most of my family members since I saw him more! I'm deeply sorry for your loss. I know that he talked about his family with such love & pride. He never made me feel dirty about my physical condition & always reminded me that I had actual disabling medical conditions. I should not be embarrassed by it. And if anyone told me different, it was their problem not mine. I will never find another doctor/friend like him. He could make anyone feel like family. Heaven gain an angel who was taken too soon. I know Heavenly Father can see the big picture & we need to be faithful in that. May God bless you & your daughters.
Sincerely,
Meagan Fair
