ALANIZ
Alicia Alaniz, age 70, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Ms. Alaniz was preceded in death by her husband, Rogelio Alaniz, Sr.; mother, Cristina Cardenas; brother, Tony Cardenas; and granddaughter, Gloria Aleman. She is survived by her sons, Orlando Alaniz (Elizabeth) and Rogelio Alaniz, Jr.; daughters, Rachel Vanegas (Herbert), Norma Chavez (Bobby), and Debbie Alaniz; 23 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; father, Alvino Cardenas; Sr., 5 brothers; 3 sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin Friday, January 25, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Camero Funeral Home. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church, 7990 W. Military Drive, San Antonio, TX 78227. Burial will follow in First Memorial Park Cemetery. Services under the direction of Camero Funeral Home.

Debbie, Norma, Rachel and Orlando, I will never forget the great memories of my teenage years as being part of your family. Your mom and dad were the best parents! They are now together and we will forever love them. I cherish every memory and I'm very lucky to have had them in my life.

I have treasured memories of Alicia at Passmore. She was such a generous and kind-hearted spirit, both with the children and the teachers. I loved working with her and will always appreciate all she did to help me be the best teacher I could be. Hopefully her family will find comfort in all their treasured memories.

Debbie I am so sorry for your loss. I know your mother was a wonderful lady as you have told me so much about her. She had to be amazing as she raised a precious daughter in you. Mrs. Alaniz was a fabulous lady and a very important part of J.B. Passmore Elementary. She was a wonderful addition to of our Passmore Family (faculty). Mrs. Alaniz mentored, loved and guided many generations of children, over the years, as well as teachers. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all. May God Bless and Keep You Mrs. Alaniz
