Dr. Lira -
Thank you for the many years of medical attention, service, and advice you provided our family. You will never be forgotten here and may you find comfort in God's grace. The Pena Family and sons.
Robert Lira, was a very dear friend of my family. His parents and my parents were Compadres, and Belinda and I were good friends growing up. All my Condolences to the family my prayers are with them.
May Our God have you by his side for all the good you did for every family you treated. You cared for my husband, and son, when they passed you even sent a sympathy card, that was the kind of person you were. Every time I took my son had an appointment, both of you talked about the spurs games, or the cowboy game, they had attended, but Dr Lira always beat my son by golfing (in Las Vegas), as my son would tell him "gamble don't go just hit balls for no reason".......GOD BLESS all his family!
I had the honor of meeting Dr. Lira 20 years ago when he treated my mother. His compassion for her care and my family helped me at the age of 25 to go foward and care for my mom. I Recently had reconnected with Dr. Lira at Buena Vida Nursing and Rehab. I was so happy to see him and thanked him for all the words of encouragement that have gotten me through my mothers illness. What most touched me was he remembered my mother even after all these years. Dr. Lira was one of the most personable and compassionate man. His love for his patients was apparent. He will be sadly missed and always remembered as a true man of service and dedication. To his wife and children I pray for God to surround you and comfort you.

I remember one Fiesta day parade when he, Rick and I were looking at blister on Rick's hand. He explained to Dr. Lira that it would appear, then go away, then would reappear. Dr. Lira said, that my friend is known in the medical community as bliterus comeus and go-us. We laughed hysterically....the man definitely had a sense of humor.
