One word comes to mind when I think of Don, “enthusiasm”. Yes, indeed, Don was the poster child for taking on any project with the greatest amount of enthusiasm, which ultimately infused into anyone who worked or played with him? Don was a natural born leader and in every respect, and so competent in everything he attempted. With a twinkle in his eyes and a smile on his face he would gather his committee together, assign duties from the day of set-up to the final finals with the energy of ten men. Don made the Cantina what it has been forever, a natural gathering place for every member to imbibe in spirits, eat a few Brauts, smoke a cigar or two, and enjoy the moment of grand fellowship as any OMBAC member can.
We have enjoyed many moments with Don and Mary Ann while on an OMBAC venture into Mexico and Ireland. My one fond memory was the trip to Ireland in 1999. I don't believe I have ever enjoyed a trip as much as this one. The overseas flight was long and arduous with esteemed OMBAC members soaking up all the rum on the plane (or so they say). Yes, indeed, Don left his mark.
Don will be missed and his memory fully ingrained in each and every member and their wool. His friendship and his love of life will ultimately be attributes that we all will take with us.

In Sympathy and love,
Susan Cunningham
