I was a customer of his at the Village Hat Shop. So sad to hear of his passing. He was compassionate and patient man.

Dear Tina, I was very saddened to hear of Fred's passing. I worked for the two of you in the 80"s and 90"s at the Seaport and Horton stores. Fred was a great boss and also a friend. Our love for the natural world was our common bond and we would often swap stories of our hiking and camping adventures. I'm sure he will be missed by many. My heart felt sympathies to you, Zach, and Alex. James Korner

Dear Tina and Family - I met Fred thru a tennis partner at Morley Field in the mid-80s. He was a fierce competitor, gracious, happy and a great intellect. Just one of people who always remains on one's mind because of their specialness and ability to make others feel good. My sincere condolences for your loss. Fred's being was a gift to us all. Just a great guy. Holly Boehm

My sympathies to his family and friends. I helped him with his birding skills during the atlas volunteer project. He was such a pleasure to be around. Mark Polinsky
