Many years ago I came from Pennsylvania to visit Dennis, and both Al and Faith welcomed me so warmly. I have often thought of them both over these years. Thinking of your family in this time of loss.

So sorry to read of your Dad's passing. Growing up as neighbors brings back special memories of your dad. His wonderful smile and gentle touch when life was not quite fair. He was always there for my mom, helping before my dad passed and then afterwards when an extra hand was needed. It has been my honor to know and love him for over 58 years. Rest in peace my friend.

My Dad was a Marine and we grew up in Chula Vista. One of my greatest memories of being a kid was going to see "Little Al" when it was time to buy new cleats or paper route money was spent on posters of baseball stars. He was such a great guy and I knew he was connected to my Dad by the Marines but had no idea the action he saw. My Dad is now at Fort Rosecrans as well. I am very sorry for your loss but you must be so proud of what a great man he was and my deepest condolences to your entire family. Jefferson Smith
