So sorry to hear about Uncle Mac's passing. In recent years, I enjoyed exchanging Christmas letters and emails with him. One of the highlights of my childhood was visiting Uncle Mac and Aunt Martha and sailing in San Diego Bay. My thoughts and prayers go out to Aunt Martha and all the Sanfords. I'm proud to be related to you!

"Always ready with a joke and smile, he was known for his great sense of humor, charm and integrity." I'll never forget my grandfathers exceptional character, which to me embodied an ideal combination of gravity and affability.

"Uncle Mac" was a great supporter and contributor to our family documentation. He edited documents, and added many stories that created color and depth to the history of our family. We spoke frequently when work was progressing on "The Four Stove Makers". I will miss him, but more than that, I feel blessed to have known him.

I consider myself very lucky and grateful to have spent 26+ years with my Grandpa Hank. He is a hero of mine. I will never forget his dedication to community service and uncanny ability to brighten the lives of others. He could also make me laugh at-will. Simply, Grandpa Hank makes me extremely proud of being a Sanford. I am going to miss him very much, but am comforted in knowing that he will never be forgotten. His legacy will live on through his family forever. I love you, Grandpa.
