I found out about the passing of Joelle Rebelo today. He was a great guy. He had a Kind-Hearted disposition and was extremely devoted to his family. I know how much he was loved by the Rebelo Family. My heart goes out to you. I am sorry for your loss.

Sharon, It was with great honor that I got to spend time as Joelle's son-in-law and friend. It saddens me to hear of his passing. Many days have passed since I last spoke with him but to this day I remember his laugh. My God bless all of you through this difficult time, I miss the days we once shared. The love for your family is always present in my heart.

Sharon, I was happy I got to see Joelle & talk with him last month! I remember when i first met the two of you over 20 years ago at Pen. Little League. We had some great times there I particularly remember how you got me involved in L.L. I took a Caps team didn't want too but I did, a few weeks later this lady (Sharon) came up to me & said we lost a manager in the Majors & your going to manage the team! The next day I was managing the team. First thing I hear is about this kid Joel Rebelo all he does is hit home runs & no one hits his pitching. So we play Joel's team the next week. The kids asked me "what are we going to do about Joel" I told the pitcher when you pitch to Joel everything's in the dirt, nothing good, walk him, he gets nothing today! I looked over to the stands about the 2nd inning Joelle cool as can be but Sharon SMOKE & FIRE & Joel like his Dad a cool cat. We never gave him a good pitch nothing at all, I think that game he hit 3 home runs WOW! Sharon & Joelle gave over 25 years to Little League Baseball. As a BOD for 17 years & the President for 11 years I can tell you no one volunteered like the Rebelo's & the kids loved them really truly loved them!!! Joelle back from fishing the next day working at the little league & I know he did it from the heart that was Joelle. Yes GREAT TIMES IN Las Vegas the casinos WHAT FUN!!! All miss you my friend. To my best friend Sharon I'm here for you 24/7 Love You!

Uncle Joelle, I miss you! I've known you my whole life and you're my first uncle. I'll cherish all the football we used to watch. The first time we got in trouble is when you and Angelo told me to throw oranges at cars on Nimitz Blvd., I was only 7 or 8. You have a sense of humor just like my Dad, who I also miss deeply. I love you. Rest in peace.

Joelle Rebelo was a great man. He worked hard all of his life to provide for his wonderful family. When I remember Joelle I think of two things. First, his work ethic. Even when he was home from sea, he was always working on a something. Second was his easy going demeanor. I was around Joelle for many years and I never saw him lose his cool. Not once, and trust me, us kids gave him plenty of reasons to. He and Sharon raised three awesome kids, great people who I am proud to call my friends. My heart goes out to to the Rebelo and Acierno families, and especially to Sharon. Sharon has been like a second mom to me. She and Joelle welcomed me into their home and for that I will be forever greatful. I love you Sharon. Thank you for everything you have done for me.

I may not have had the chance to get to know you as much as I would have liked, but non the less you are family and I love you. You were always very warm and kind when I got to see you during those Thanksgiving family gatherings. I am sorry you are gone and I never got the opportunity to spend more time with you. God Bless.

Joelle...a wonderfully kind, caring, and loving person. I have known him for just over 5 years and consider myself blessed to have know him for this relatively brief period of time. I love him very much and he will be greatly missed as a father-in-law and friend.

Uncle Joelle you were more than an Uncle to me! You were that one man in my life that always had open arms, that loved me unconditionally, through it all. You had the smile and laugh that was only Uncle Joelle's and you were like grandpa to my kids. When I was little you were my playmate and my dolly. You sat there and let me comb your hair for hours if i wanted, with that big ol smile while I braided it and put it in ponytails. You saved my life when I was 3, jumping in the pool and grabbing me from the bottom, when I was so aware that I only had a few breaths left. You were my angel and someone I always respected and looked up to and you were my Rock!! The doors to your home were always open to everyone. Thanks for all the chorizo and eggs for breakfast and for all the awesome BBQ's for dinner!!! Thanks for all the hugs and cuddles and fun and for all the memories!!! I love you Uncle Joelle and I know you are at peace now and up there with a free ticket to all the football you can watch!!! To Tete, Jolene, Jason, Joel, Sydney, Frankie, Tom and Rebecca, My family, all my love, hugs and comfort, Gob Bless!!

He was such a generous man, sharing his time and shipboard expertise with the new crewmembers to the facility with a ready smile and a kind word.
