Dear Betty: I thought of you so many times in the last few years. I'm saddened to hear about John's passing, and know how much you miss him. Even though Jack and I met you only a few years ago at our church retreat, you meant so much to us. Jack and I marveled at John"s strength and courage these past several years. Please know that you two made a difference in our lives. May the Lord bless and keep you.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of John, our dear next door neighbor and friend of many years here in Mission Beach. I always enjoyed our many casual conversations on the beach, his gently calming way, his superb surfing ability, his wonderful integrity, his helpfulness in the neighborhood and his dedication to his family and, especially, to Betty. I still miss gazing across the basketball court at Viejas Arena during the Aztec games and seeing John and Betty in their season seats. I am certain that John is in a most wonderful place with our Lord and is looking down proudly at our winning Aztec team. Rest in peace, John and our best wishes and sympathy to Betty. We miss you both here at the beach. Steve and Susan Norman
