April 11, 2013 I just commented to someone how Mrs. McLeod was my favorite and most memorable teacher (fourth grade at Whittier) and decided to Google her. I'm sorry that I didn't do it sooner, so I could have told her myself.My sympathy to her family for the loss. I fondly recall learning to play the uke, learning to do wonderful Hawaiian dances, doing wonderfully exotic art projects, being inspired to visit Hawaii with the information she provided, her playing the bagpipes and speaking fondly of her son. She was so kind and respectful to her students. She truly an exceptional being. She was an inspiration to me to attend college and become a teacher.
