I was thinking of things I was thankful for today, Thanksgiving day 2016 and found this means of communicating my feelings. I wish I'd been been able to speak with her personally. Patti opened her home to me for two years while I supported myself through college. I met her daughter while working on a political campaign and she suggested the arrangement. There are turning points in your life, like this one, that hugely contribute to your overall success. Although I was extremely appreciative at the time, the sentiment has grown with hindsight and understanding of the huge impact this had on my ability to reach my goals. I graduated and went on to earn three master's degrees. Her generosity allowed me to complete my education and find career success and personal reward. I will forever be in her debt. Thank you Patti. I offer my sincere condolences to her family. Lori

In an email from a mutual friend, Milt Yanicks, i just heard about Patti's death. Of course her memory lives on. Mine have stayed with me since the days in a 9th grade classroom on Mercer Island, Washington in the late 1950's. My wife and I just moved in May to Palm Desert, CA and if we had known about the memorial I would have been there in blue. A few years back Patti and I had dinner at the Yanick's when Patti was back in the PNW. It was fun sharing some hilarious memories of classroom antics, not the least those where Patti was central. But it is her zestful encouragement of intellectual growth, artistic appreciation and disciplined control of language that have stuck with me for a lifetime. Peace and farewell Patti!! And to her family, you've got to know that your Mom done good. Chip Wall

We will never forget your spark, wit, and tremendous joie de vivre, Patti. We met in 1985, have and will always cherish each and every moment we shared together. Love you so. Our prayers are with your family and especially your wonderful children. Trippy

We have many fond memories of Patti, her unique personality, and interest in music. We were part of Her Music Festival on many occasions. A great lady and we are proud we shared part of life.
