I first met Col. Dodge in 1987, when I was a U.S. Customs Pilot at Naval Air Station North Island and my son was seeking a nomination to the U.S. Air Force Academy. It was during the meetings at Rep. Duncan Hunter's office, that Col. Dodge and I became fast friends. I feel so blessed to have been one of Col. Dodge's many friends. Our meetings, phone calls and emails meant so much to me. I am happy to report that both my son, Scott and daughter, Barbara, both graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1992 and 1997 respectively and went on to wonderful Air Force careers. I know that Col. Dodge's inspiration went a long way with my kid's and many others. Col. Dodge's long and storied career as a WWII Air Force Pilot and as a San Diego Police Officer and later as an Air Force Academy Liaison Officer. I will always miss talking to or emailing with Col. Dodge. Another noble gentleman, brave warrior and aviator has flown west. I am deeply saddened by Col. Dodge's passing and ask that God bless Col. Dodge, Hilda, Peter and his entire family.

Having just learned we are sad, but so joyful to know Col. Dodge for over 28 years. Our daughter Julie is serving in the USAF as a Lt. Col. having been nominated for the USAFA by Col. Dodge, his assistance in her career has been invaluable. Our affection for he and Hilda continues, they remain a part of our family.

I too served with Col Dodge in the USAF Officer Admissions Program. Very much like my father, who was also a pilot in WWII, Bob was a good & honorable man, who I admired & respected. Like so many of his generation, he had the character and qualities of leadership that made this a better place. My condolences to his wife and family. I will miss him.
