Scoutmaster Dodge was my Boy Scout Scoutmaster at Order of the Arrow events, and in particular for the World Scout Jamboree Troop in 1967. What an adventure for a 16 year old. A role model for a kid like myself with a steady demeanor and smoothing voice. I was able to visit with him, Hilda and Pete a few times in past years. What great memories. A delight. All the best to the family.

It is going to take me a while to accept that Colonel Dodge is gone because for so many years he was a beacon of strength to me as he stood for all that is good in this world. Colonel Dodge's impeccable values and morals were recognized by anyone who knew him, and it is truly an honor for me to say that I knew a person of such caliber in my lifetime. Along those lines, tomorrow marks 22 years of service in the USAF for me, and I owe it all to Colonel Dodge's gracious help and mentorship over the past three decades. Colonel Dodge, I love you and I will miss you.

Colonel Dodge was one of our true American Heroes. His life is an example of a man who lived out his faith for all to see while he worked faithfully to uphold the principles that made America great. He will be missed by countless people whose lives he touched. We shall miss seeing him at VIP meetings. Our prayers are with you, Hilda, Peter, Pat, Marianne and family. The Lord will give you the strength to make it through these difficult days and will keep his memory alive for the rest of your lives.
