Legendary Aunt Ruth, my cool California Aunt with my adorable CA Cousins who I
am old enough to remember far better than than they are able to remember me. My heart goes out to you guys now, especially because from what it appears...my sweet father, James (her eldest brother), was a lot like your mom. A "runaway", fiercely independent, courageous, kind, funny and loved by all. Pure Goodness and I understand you sorely miss her. She followed her heart and it led her to true happiness...and eventually to Bob, her ultimate soul mate (the answer to a praying mother's prayer) and more children & grandchildren! From a loving family and remarkable mother to becoming a Beloved Grandmother herself.
May you find comfort in her fun memories, inspiration from her strength and wander as far as you can from where you came from (whatever that means to you) so that you too can find that you carry those you love, your family, in your heart always...Because right now waiting to see her again someday seems unbearable, listen carefully- she's right beside you - loving you and making you laugh like only she and her Crook brothers,(my dear uncles),can. She has so much to be proud of in each and every one of you! Love you all. May angels enfold you now and in the coming days.
With Sympathy & Many Blessings,
Susan & Samantha (Jimmy & Betty Crook)

Ruth and I use to stay in close contact with one another by phone. I am going to miss our conversations that sometimes would be pretty close to an hour. Something would always be said that would lead us talking about our childhood days and all the wonderful friends, relatives, and neighbors. Both of us had good memories of them. We enjoyed talking about those 'good ole days' - how she and Beulah, Julie, Jake, Orville Ray and Jackie and even sometimes daddy - singing those beautiful gospel songs in tent revivals, open air meetings and on the radio. Thank the Lord that we were born and raised in a home that knew and worshiped Jesus.
Ruth is going to be missed - even now.

Tom and I have great memories of our visits with Aunt Ruth and Uncle Bob! She was such a sassy, fun and pretty lady! She will be missed! I always remember her wonderful smile and talking to her- she never got rid of her southern drawl and I always thought that it was so cute! Our thoughts and love are with you all!

Dear Nana,
I miss you so much. It is really different around here with out you but I know that you are in a better place and you are no longer in pain. I just wanted to thank you for supporting me the last few months as me and Austin got married...I don't know how i would have done it with out you. You were always so sweet and caring and so selfless. I love the fact that whenever we left you house we would all have to carry out about three bags because you always gave us enough to fill up half of our house. That just shows how you were always so giving. I am so proud that I had a grandmother as great as you...my friends were always amazed that you were so healthy and fit, always going to the gym and going on cruises but I always thought that was just so normal. Now I truly understand that you where one of a kind and you where a truly amazing woman.I thank God that he blessed me with such a fun, giving, crazy grandmother. Through you He was able to show his love, mercy, and kindness through you.

Nana,
I miss you so much already. There hasn't been a day that goes by where I'm not thinking about you. Nothing is the same without you. I want to thank you for always being there for me and understanding me when no one else could. You have made me the person I am today and set a perfect example for me to follow. I hope one day I can be just like you. I love you so much xoxoxoxo,
Love Haley

Sweet Heart, I am sorry that our time was cut short. The only thing that makes sense is that was "God's" will. You made my life complete. From the day that I answered you ad stating that you wanted to meet a man that knew how to treat a lady like a lady, our life was pure magic. We traveled and enjoyed the world by cruise lines, airlines trips to Hawaii, all inclusive vacations, motor home travel to many interesting and varied locations. You were always a joy to me. I am honored that you were my wife and that you chose me to be your sole mate and lifetime partner. You left me with a beautiful family and I promise you that just as I took care of you, I will take care of the family. I am now head of the family and accept this responsibility. Remember that I love you dearly and look forward to the day that I may join you in peace and love with our heavenly Father. Love you Swea Pea - your loving husband Bob

I will miss Ruth's beautiful smile and joy for life. She was always such a fun presence in our lives. Al says he will miss her "Ruthisms". Those who knew Ruth will know what he is talking about.
