Dear Susan and Jack family.
My name is Marcin Biesek. I found that Jack died, just few weeks ago.
I am an artist sculptor like Jack, and we were both talking about art and sculpture . He gave me a lot of advice about art. And ,I also found in Jack, that he is very kind and great person ... It is a shame I have not meet him. Just life is so short to explore and see all people ....I can see all beauty in his art and really friendly smile. The best Christmas Wishes -Marcin Biesek (UK)

I just found out about Jack's passing and instantly broke into a torrent of tears. He was the most influential person in my career path and I considered him a good friend. I haven't seen him in years, but knowing he was there was always comforting. A good man he was, and from my experiences, there just aren't that many of them in this world. I wish I could have said this in person, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything that you did for me Jack. You gave me direction, confidence and opportunity when I was struggling to find myself. It was all very, very much appreciated. Thank you for being you.

To a wonderful, bright soul who enlightened many others with his gentle nature and expressive art.

I love you Uncle Jack, I'm going to miss you, yet feel that you are always nearby. May your new journey be blessed and peaceful. I know you will be there with the rest of the family when my time comes. Thank you for being such a wonderful person, your love and light have touched many people! Love lasts forever!

I will always remember you Jack, every time I go into my jewelry box an see the beautiful necklace that you gave me at your house the day the class came over after our 60th birthday reunion we had at Rick an Karens house in 07. I can see a picture of you all dressed up with your little bow tie. Those were the days, South Pasadena was the best place to live. I will miss you every time I drive across El Centro St. So long Jack, see you one of these days where every we go.

the man was love personified

and then
there were those two, elegant post modern (maybe Italian ?)
leather & chrome
slingy-back chairs; one that rich chocolate shade of thick brown
the other blond, caramel...natural
they dwelt crammed in the living room
until one Spring day they sailed away
making only a gesture of folding
they handily fit in the back of the Volks Wagon van
always felt those chairs must have warmly cupped some human, peering out to see
sun spectacled evening dropping
through a huge
mad-men
made in mid-century
picture window

that was a love poem in honor of Susan & Jack & Jackie Biesek
(& all the rest of us...)

I didn't spend a lot of time with Jack in this life, but the few times I did he always made me feel 'welcome'. How cool is that? Thank you Jack! I look forward to catching up with you on down the road apiece ...

Someone who I cared about, appreciated, who aligned with my peculiar values, who supported us in our radical move to get kids to stop watching TV for a week, whose parties were the best (where I met some of my best friends), whose wife Sumac is the best, whose ability to combine his work with his art... and on and on.... and I pause while tears fall down on these silly keys... I LOVE your own obituary Jack!!
